About Image-Art

If you do not wish to part with your photo, and you have a good quality scanner, you can scan you photo and e-mail it.
Scanning:
1-
Small photos, 3" or less should be scanned at 720 dpi,  (600 if 720 is not available on your scanner).

2- Photos over 3" and up to 4" on the longest side should be scanned at 600 dpi.

3- Photos 5"x7" or bigger should be scanned at 300 dpi.

If the photo is/was in color, do not adjust the colors on your scanner.

If you want the photo enlarged, it must be focused and sharp.  If it looks slightly blurred at its original size, it will be greatly blurred when enlarged.

For Enlargements:

Scan the photo so that there will  bo 300 dots per inch at the size you want the photo printed.

Example: You want a photo 3" x 5" to be printed at 5" x 7". Do the calculation for the longest side of the photo: you need 7 x 300 = 2100 dots  along the 7"  side. So scan at 2100/5 inches = 420 dpi (or the next largest dpi available on your scanner).

Be sure to include:
Name
Address
Contact information - phone and e-mail
Special instructions
And the actual size of the original photo in inches or centimeters.
